About Us

Young Audiences North East Texas (YANET) uses the arts to enrich children’s lives and enhance their education. Every child in every school should receive a well-rounded education that includes the arts.

Our MissionYoung Audiences of Northeast Texas enriches children’s lives and enhances their education through the arts, serving students, teachers, and schools since 1997. As one of five Texas affiliates of Young Audiences, Inc., we offer arts experiences like assembly performances, workshops, and residencies led by professional teaching artists.

Our Creating Balance through Dance program builds teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence in middle and high school students. The annual Poetry in Schools contest invites 1st-12th graders to submit original work and offers opportunities for publication and recognition.

We provide professional development for teachers, helping integrate the arts into teaching, and consult on whole-school reform to improve learning, behavior, and outcomes. We are in our 14th year of honoring exceptional arts educators as we gear up for our annual Arts in Education Awards event in the spring.

Additionally, we offer summer arts camps and after-school programs, providing students with even more opportunities to engage with the arts and develop their creativity. Research shows that students with an arts-rich education are twice as likely to go to college and five times less likely to drop out of high school. Let us help you transform learning in your community!
